mind YOU....

The mind cannot seek the mind.
You ignore what is real and hold on to That which is unreal, then try to find What it is.
You think you are the mind and, Therefore, ask how it is to be controlled.
If the mind exists, It can be controlled, But it does not.
Understand this truth by inquiry; Seek the real, the Self

You are the centre of your universe. As you get in touch with yourself, be it an emotional disturbance, fear, craving for love, loneliness, happiness or realise that the other person too is having the very same experience when life throws it upon him/her. As you get in touch with yourself, you get in touch with the other. Your parents, spouse, children, siblings are but a part of yourself and you, a part of them. We are constantly affecting each other's thoughts and emotions. The sense of separation is only an illusion. This is the birth of connectedness.

movement of love....

What can truth or reality gain by all our practice?
(Nisarga uses truth and love interchangeably.)
Nisarga :"Nothing whatsoever, of course. But it is in the nature of truth or love, cosmic consciousness, whatever you want to call it, to express itself, to affirm itself, to overcome difficulties. Once you've understood that the world is love in action, consciousness or love in action, you will look at it quite differently. But first your attitude to suffering must change. Suffering is primarily a call for attention, which itself is a movement of love. More than happiness, love wants growth, the widening and deepening of awareness and consciousness and being. Whatever prevents that becomes a cause of pain, and love does not shirk from pain."

I am....

When I met my Guru, he told me: "You are not what you take yourself to be. Find out what you are. Watch the sense 'I am', find your real Self." I obeyed him, because I trusted him. I did as he told me. All my spare time I would spend looking at myself in silence. And what a difference it made, and how soon! My teacher told me to hold on to the sense 'I am' tenaciously and not to swerve from it even for a moment. I did my best to follow his advice and in a comparatively short time I realized within myself the truth of his teaching. All I did was to remember his teaching, his face, his words constantly. This brought an end to the mind; in the stillness of the mind I saw myself as I am - unbound. I simply followed (my teacher's) instruction which was to focus the mind on pure being 'I am', and stay in it. I used to sit for hours together, with nothing but the 'I am' in my mind and soon peace and joy and a deep all-embracing love became my normal state. In it all disappeared - myself, my Guru, the life I lived, the world around me. Only peace remained and unfathomable silence.
-Nisargadatta Maharaj

You know, I've been everywhere in the world, and have found that people are exactly the same. There is no difference at all. Becoming is the most important thing in the world for everybody - to become something. They all want to become rich, whether materially or spiritually, it is exactly the same. Don't divide it; the so-called spiritual is the materialistic. You may think you are superior because you go to temple and do puja, but the woman there is doing puja in the hope of having a child. She wants something, so she goes to the temple. So do you; it is exactly the same. For sentimental reasons you go, but in time it will become routine and become abhorrent to you.

some gems...

Understanding has to understand the futility of trying to understand...

You do not suffer...You = Suffering. Suffering arises when "YOU" exist....

from the upanishads....

"You are what your deep driving desire is. As is your desire so is your will. As is your will so is your deed."

In the words of Sri Bhagavan, life is relationships and healing our lives of various afflictions is centred on healing the various relationships in our lives with people and things.
Acceptance of the other just as he or she is, is teh key to the setting right of relationships. We constantly seek to change the other , bring others to agree with our povs. This creates misery, stress and conditionality situations in our lives , a situation far removed from joy and love which can otherwise characterise every aspect of our lives. We judge others through coloured glasses we wear and condemn ourselves and the other in the context of positionalities we have consciously or unconsciously adopted.Positionality is an intrinsic attribute of the self in the context of conditionings it has accumalated.Positionality acquires the hue of an ego-centric location in relationships spaces and brusies and harms relationships.
it is ok to have differing viewpoints on various aspects of life, but positionality makes us violent, unaccepting and unforgiving. Needless to add, it is the perfect formula for stressed relationships.
The 9th of June is celebrated as Relationships Day at The Oneness University, a day to become aware of ourselves in the context of our various relationships; with our parents, our spouses, our children, our God and so on. It would also help to become aware of our relationships with aspects such as wealth and abundance, health and body etc.
The outer world is a reflection of the inner and roadblocks we face in life have their roots in our inner worlds. A healing addressal there can manifest miracles in our outer spaces.
