Rising in love...

As you rise in love, you start relating to the Divine (Source). As you fall in love, you move away from the Divine. The more your love, the stronger is your relationship with the Divine.
- Sri Bhagavan
A beautiful fact of life from the Master. Colloquial expressions of love hasten our fall as they are connected to the lower consciousness aspects. We get consumed and lose our touch with the sacredness of all life. As we get tuned in to the higher consciousness, the unconditional expression of love permeates our being and in this state, we are like a river in flow , a tree in bloom. Love is our very nature and floods across all our actions as we go through our lives. Love is a state of being, not a person or activity specific episode of our lives.
Our very connectedness with people, things and events around us, our entire universe , is dependant on this evolution in us.
To discover love, we need to be aware of the conditionality of our lifestyles and lack of love in our lives. Awareness of the lack of love in our lives automatically leads to the discovery of love.

what's love got to do with it?

The recent murder of a media executive in Mumbai revolving around an aspiring actress and her boyfriend has drawn tremendous media attention with people pontificating with their own perceptions on it.
Come to think of it, it could be the story of any 3 average , intelligent , ambitious people of the world, each consumed by their need for power, thrills, success and so on.It has nothing to do with love...
When a need consumes the mind, the mind is capable of anything.Fear, anger, possessiveness and so on control and overpower our lives day in and day out.It is rarely morality factors which keep us in check; it is rather the fear of social ostracization.
The average human life is a careful maintenance of these balances.
Each of us , when consumed by our needs is a potential source of danger to the world. When the unconscious controls us, we are capable of anything. As unhappy people , we are only capable of spreading unhappiness.
Awareness is the key, to be able to see ourselves just as the people we are, and not mask ourselves into the people we would like to be.When we wear our masks, after sometime, we fool ourselves into believing that we are the people we would like ourselves to be.
And the burden of our masks become unbearable after sometime and we collapse....
We mask the addressal of our needs as LOVE for our spouses, parents, children etc. If we are able to see it for what it is and our manipulative lifestyles using people unabashedly to achieve our objectives and accept ourselves for what we are, life would be a different ball-game.
Integrity is the key to a good life...a life of awareness , imo , is the highest morality...
Love and joy , emerging as a state of our being is the natural outcome of a life led in a dynamic awareness....

Is it love?

People enter into relationships mostly as a reaction, on the rebound. It is more to move away from other stifling situations or to keep up with peer pressure. Rachel's boyfriend had moved on and was now dating a different girl. Rachel could not overcome the grief of separation and tried her best to put on a brave face , especially infront of her peers. Her identity was linked to her earlier relationship, howsoever abusive it had become. But a greater hurt was the sense of rejection. Instead of facing the situation head on and completing the cycle of hurt, she latched on to another relationship, as if on a rebound. It was more of an escape from stifling family conditions and her need to be loved and to love.
On a deeper note, man runs from pillar to post begging for love right from childhood. He seeks recognition and acceptance from his parents and tries his best to fulfil their expectations. Later this shifts to teachers, peers, friends etc. Then comes boyfriends or girl friends..Everywhere , the begging continues for love. In Bhagavan's words, he has his NEED for her to need him and she has her NEED for him to need her and these two aspects keep the relationship alive. She keeps on doing things to enhance her need in his life, to increase his dependance on her and he likewise.
The thirst for love remains unquenched in this transactional relationship.
Love can never come to us from another. It is a state of being we have to experience. Our physical , emotional and administrative needs can be addressed in a transactional space , but they will remain that forever. The dull lifeless faces we see all around are the mechanization of such spaces. The first few months of a relationship are flush with physical and other excitement but sadly doomed to boredom very shortly. It does not matter whether one's spouse is Brad Pitt or Demi Moore.
It is intrinsically the attribute of a life incapable of love.
When we are joyous and in a state of love, we can bring that in to spaces we choose to share. It is a quality within us, a state of our being, not a quality of the activity in question.
Infact, such activities only serve to enhance the emptiness within us. We remain miserable beggars. Every attempt to fill the emptiness leads to more emptiness.
To choose to live , rather than exist; man has to discover love.First , he has to become aware of the absence of love in his life.It is an INCAPACITY , not a fault. The mind , which is the guiding force behind our activities of today is intrinsically incapable of love. It is only capable of transacting. It relates out of fear, out of need , out of vulnerability. None of these sitautions get addressed through it's attempt at relating. If at all, all these aspects get heightened.Instead of a liberating experience, man gets sucked into more bondage. the whirlpool of misery becomes a noose and life becomes a suffocation, a compromise.
In any conditionality, that through which we rise also hastens our fall. We rush into relationships as an escape, the same spaces become our nooses.
This , alas , is the tragedy of mankind today. The deadly boredom of stale habit characterizes our intimate relationships. Our efforts at infusing life into them is pathetic.A tree poisoned at the roots can never yield healthy fruit, howsoever attractive the fruit may seem at the surface.
We really have no choice other than address the basic lovelessness within. When we watch that , become aware and live in acceptance, what emerges is love.
Love is not merely about sexual, emotional, administrative and other fulfilments. It is the sense of connectedness to everyone and everything around us.WE do not feel connected to our own parents. In Bhagavan's perception, the malaise starts there and ends there. When this relationship is healed and we discover unconditional love, love manifests every place in our lives. It is not about a specific person or a set of activities we like to share with some one. It is much deeper.
Love is our natural state of being. Love is fearless, not vulnerable. It is liberating , not binding.
Bhagavan humourously says that in todays world when people say they love another , it is only the self which indulges itself and uses the other to fulfil it's need. It has nothing to do with love.
maybe only a few of us would rise to the challenge of rising beyond the mediocrity that has come to characterize our existence, where we are disconnected from one and all; only the needs arising from our unconscious drive us.
And soon leave us dry and drained.......
Love is life, eternally nourishing....

relating..conceptual or otherwise...

This post is triggered by various contemporary shares/discussions in blogspace.

Let us see what happens when 2 people connect. Each comes in with his/her own idealogy/value positionality and operates from there.Values are acquired concepts and do not come with any absoluteness. It is perfectly ok to find comfort in a set of values, but it is important to remember it's contextuality to our conditionings.

Sometimes, a cyclonic attraction overpowers 2 individuals and they share a lustful moment.Nothing wrong in that either as long as one is able to see it as it is.It is an addressal of a personal need and a happening in a moment where 2 individual needs synchronize in a shared space.

Where is love in all this context?

To me , it is a state beyond the realm of any conceptual positionalities as well as the realm of personal need.It is just a state of being that floods all in it's wake. Thus, it is not person or activity specific. It can express itself in myriad ways including the domain of physical and emotional intimacy.

While not degrading lustful desire or positionalities, love is total in it's acceptance of the other, not conditionally dependant on the presence or absence of certain activities, and a relating paradigm from our cores, the domain of the unchangeable as different from the domain of conditioned spaces. One can still relate in a need-based context but with an awareness and acceptance of our need as the driving force, rather than any masked image that comes forth.

when we operate out of this fountainhead, love is a happening, not a planned or a thought-activated enterprise.

mystic moments...

love, to me, as i have encountered it's various hues and nuances of expression , has evolved into an underlying state of being, flooding all in it's wake..i no longer perceive it as person or activity specific, not even as an emotion...rather as a very fundamental aspect much like the fragrance of the rose, which is not spread by any effort; rather it is a happening, a state of just "being" rather than trying to "become" something or somebody.

One would still continue to have likes and preferences vis-a-vis activity and people-space shares; a state of love floods these spaces rather than love being stimulated through these encounters.Love enriches moments of our existence with a deep sense of fulfilment and underlying joy.It is an anchor which reduces our vulnerabilities wrought about by various dependencies to activities or people; thus it is not sustained by paradigms of fear and insecurity, rather it is a spontaneous celebration of life and it's offerings...

The discovery of love is indeed an eternal voyage, an eternal pigrimage...

from my inbox...you are love...

Beautiful perspective on love.....a state of being..

The Universe Loves You
By Jafree Ozwald & Margot Zaher
www.EnlightenedBeings.com

You are inherently lovable and have always been loved by the Universe. In fact, you are love itself. The problem is that most of us live under a false illusion that we just do something, or be somebody special to earn love and acceptance. We spend our lives trying to get peoples’ love and acceptance when love surrounds us and permeates every atom in this Universe. It's like we are fish in the ocean seeking, searching and thirsty for water. Once we just relax into this simple truth that love is here now, you feel loved by the Universe and know you are always taken care of.The great secret is relaxing into this knowingness completely.

"I laugh when I hear that the fish in the water is thirsty." ~Kabir

Sometimes you might be thinking, “But I can't feel truly loved by anyone, how can I feel loved by the Universe?”If you don’t feel the warmth and love from this divine Universe, then you are the one who is blocking out love.It is the armor around your heart that is protecting you from getting hurt again. So with these emotional shields it can be challenging to feel the loving energy that naturally surrounds us.The greatest thing is that the Universe will do everything to help you pull your walls down.It will create heart opening situations that will penetrate your shields and eventually cause them to melt completely. The key is to remain open and receptive to allowing this to happen.

One of most amazing things about the Universe is that it is always a perfect flawless mirror for what is happening inside you.Meaning that whatever energy you send out is exactly what you will feel coming back to you. When you send out kindness and patience to others, you'll experience people treating you with more understanding, gentleness and patience. Now this flawless mirror can be a blessing or a curse, depending on what you are habitually focusing upon and vibrationally sending out. If you are in the habit of sending out fear, desperation, or those "poor me" victim feelings, then you are truly wasting your time and missing the greatest opportunity of your lifetime! This is to experience yourself as a truly divine lovable human being who is the source of love and is constantly FEELING loved by the Universe!

"There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved." ~George Sand

The good news is that even when you do send out negative vibrations, the Universe still loves and supports you. In these moments when your mind is clogged with negativity, you may just not be able to feel this gentle supporting love that is all around you. When you are focusing on fear or negativity, you are in essence wearing dark glasses that shield the rays of love and light from the Universe. However, you can choose at any moment to take off your glasses and see the greatest truth and essence of your being. That you are lovable, and the source of love! Every moment holds the opportunity for you to recognize the Divine loveable being that you are, perfect just as you are in every way.

The following is an experience told by Margot:

One day about 7 years ago, I walked into my neighborhood grocery store in a very bad mood. The day had been full of misadventures and mishap. Anyway, I had only one thing to buy and had to stand in line for a very long time. I kept thinking, “These people are all selfish. They haven’t even offered to let me go ahead of them.” As I approached the cash register I thought, “Boy, the cashiers who work here are not very nice. They didn’t even smile at me.” As I left the store, I thought, “I don’t really like this store. Everybody is just so shut down and unfriendly.”

"Love is like a mountain, hard to climb, but once you get to the top the view is beautiful." ~Daniel Monroe Tuttle

A few days later, I returned to the same grocery store. This day, however, I walked into the store in a really positive uplifted mood. I thought, “It’s so great just to be alive.” My experience in the store was radically different. While I still stood in line for a very long time, I decided to make friends with the people in line. I chatted back and forth with them, and thought to myself, “Everybody is so friendly in this store.” In fact, I even made a new friend that day standing in line, and we promptly did something together that very same day. As I arrived at the checkout counter, I was greeted by the same cashier. However, this time I saw the smile on her face, and heard the warmth in her greeting for I had taken of my dark glasses and could see the love around me. I have had many direct experiences of both feeling and not feeling loved by the Universe. It is very evident that my attitude directly impacts my ability to perceive and feel love and support.

So remember that you can feel how much the entire Universe loves you by just shifting your energy and taking off any dark glasses you may be wearing. The more you open up to the natural love of the Universe, the more you see how the whole Universe is truly supporting you and sending you what you need to manifest your dreams.

movement of love....

What can truth or reality gain by all our practice?
(Nisarga uses truth and love interchangeably.)
Nisarga :"Nothing whatsoever, of course. But it is in the nature of truth or love, cosmic consciousness, whatever you want to call it, to express itself, to affirm itself, to overcome difficulties. Once you've understood that the world is love in action, consciousness or love in action, you will look at it quite differently. But first your attitude to suffering must change. Suffering is primarily a call for attention, which itself is a movement of love. More than happiness, love wants growth, the widening and deepening of awareness and consciousness and being. Whatever prevents that becomes a cause of pain, and love does not shirk from pain."

acceptance..the seed of love....

"Love is possible only when there is a deep acceptance of oneself, the other, the world. Acceptance creates the milieu in which love grows, the soil in which love blooms. When you stop improving upon yourself, life improves you. In that relaxation, in that acceptance, life starts caressing you, life starts flowing through you. Nobody else has ever been like you and nobody else will ever be like you; you are simply unique, incomparable. Accept this, love this, celebrate this--and in that very celebration you will start seeing the uniqueness of the others, the incomparable beauty of the others.
~Osho

a sufi lyric...

aawaz de rahi hai
meri zindagi mujhe...
jaoon main ya na jaaoon
tujhe dekhne ke baad.
ab kya ghazal sunaaoon
tujhe dekhne ke baad...
